Scholars and partners of the Canada-Europe Transatlantic Dialogue work together under five broad research themes. These themes:
- focus on issues of current policy importance to Canada and Europe; and
- involve issues where research on Europe or Canadian-European research cooperation could generate findings useful to Canada; or where Canadian research would be of interest to Europeans.
The research themes:
1) the environment and sustainable development;
2) immigration and social policy;
3) economic cooperation, competition, and international law;
4) “democratic deficits” and policy coordination in multi-level systems; and
5) the EU and Canada as global actors in international conflict management and security.
